SMW Announces the 2026–2027 Martha and George Washington

On April 23, 2026, the Society of Martha Washington proudly announced its 2026–2027 Martha and George Washington during a special ceremony held at the historic Pvt. David B. Berkeley Cantu Chapel on the Laredo College Fort McIntosh campus.

Society President Tami Summers introduced Christine Holiday Cerda and Jeffrey Gerardo Puig as the individuals selected to portray Martha and George Washington for the upcoming celebration. Considered one of the Society's highest honors, the selection recognizes individuals who will represent the legacy and spirit of George and Martha Washington throughout the celebration year.

Members of the Society, the Board of Directors, family, and friends gathered to witness the announcement, while members of the media were also invited to share the news with the community. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed a reception in honor of the newly announced Martha and George Washington.

The Society of Martha Washington extends its heartfelt congratulations to Christine Holiday Cerda and Jeffrey Gerardo Puig and looks forward to celebrating this cherished Laredo tradition with them during the 2026–2027 season.
